What to Blog About: 43 Niche Blog Post Ideas

female office worker researching what to blog about

If you’ve ever opened up a Google Doc and thought, “I can’t possibly say that again,” you’re not alone. It’s hard to keep the content ideas coming when you feel like you’ve said it all before.

However, your target audience wants to hear from you, and if you want your website to rank, so does Google. So, how do you find good topics to write about?

The good news is that you haven’t actually run out of things to say. You’ve just run out of ways to say it. Because much like a good selfie, blogging is all about the angles.

Finding a new angle within your blog niche is key to writing relevant, engaging blogs.

Below are five simple, genuinely useful ways to write the best blogs without getting bored or frustrated.

1. Do keyword research

Understanding what your target audience is searching for online is paramount when it comes to creating relevant blog content.

And while keyword research might sound daunting if you’ve never done it before, it doesn’t have to be overly technical or complex.

My best advice is to try one of these methods:

  •  Google what you do and check out the “people also asked” section
  • Start typing your industry/product/service into TikTok, Pinterest, or YouTube and see what the suggested search terms are
  • Go to Answer the Public and enter what you do (e.g. jewellery, web design, corporate coaching) for suggested topics and even AI prompts – you get 3 searches a day with a free account.

And voila – you suddenly have a list of blog post topics based on real audience data.

2. Find your blog niche and lean into it

Like in business, you need a good niche to blog effectively – don’t be too vague in the hope of attracting more readers, because specific is best.

Choose a niche that reflects your expertise and create a blog regularly within that niche area.

Examples:

3. Turn real customers questions into blog topics

You might feel like you’ve said it all before, but if you regularly get questions about your products or services, your audience definitely hasn’t heard it all.

Start a blog pulling ideas from:

  • Discovery call FAQs
  • The questions people DM you
  • Social media comments
  • That question you find yourself answering 47 times a week.

Every time someone asks you something, that’s a blog waiting to happen.

4. Write a blog that tells the story behind your advice

Turn your advice into stories to make it more engaging and memorable for your audience.

For example, if you’re a coach you might want to write a blog about why boundaries matter.

Turn this into a story your audience can see themselves in:

  • My Client Set One Small Boundary at Work – and It Changed Everything in a Week.
  • The Day I Realised I Wasn’t Burned Out, I Was Just Saying Yes to the Wrong Things.

5. Challenge an assumption about your industry

Take a topic your industry treats as a given and question it.

Instead of safe, predictable advice, challenge the assumptions people rarely pause to think about:

  • Do Neutral Colours Actually Make Rooms Look Bigger? Not Always – Find Out What Does
  • Do You Really Need to Smash 10k Steps a Day? My Clients Got Better Results With Fewer Steps.
  • Is Artisan Coffee Always Better? Not Necessarily – Find Out Why.

This isn’t controversy for the sake of drama, it’s encouraging people to think for themselves and question the status quo.

This positions you as the calm, confident expert – and it’s likely to spark interesting debates.

6. Refresh, remix, repeat old blog post ideas

Not every idea needs to be brand new! I am such a huge fan of repurposing content.

Some of your best-performing blogs can be refreshed with updated data, a clearer structure, or modern examples.

The online world moves so quickly – what worked in 2022 probably needs a polish in 2025.

Similarly, blog ideas can come from other forms of content that performed well, like an email or a TikTok. Don’t feel the need to constantly reinvent the wheel.
